Millau Bridge

I had high hopes for Les Gorges Du Tarn.  A 6 hour drive to get to Millau, home to the world’s highest road bridge (at time of writing) then another hour and well worth it.  The Tarn Gorge is long and high, and there only seems to be a fraction of the rock open and bolted.  On the first day we cruise up to Tresor Du Zebra and I send a super quality 35mtr 6a Jeux De Plage.  Warmed up and some, Remy opens Yohann’s recommendation of Katia Strophe, 7b though I see it’s 7b+ in the Rockfax guide.  Thin start, easyish climbing to the roof then power on.  First pitch is 6b+ but then you have to change the chip.  Long moves on some half decent holds to the crux – an overhanging dyno from a left hand undercling and thin right hand.  When you get there it’s bomber, but getting there…  Even after this it’s no walk in the park.  But quality though…

Kata Strophe, 7b

And here’s Yohann’s latest project, Les Ailes Du Desir, 8a and 50mtrs long.
