An early start sees us hiking in to do a 12 pitch beast, but the cloud, fog and moisture means not today, so it’s back down the valley for two awesome routes on the other side of the valley, Dinas Chromlech.

The hike in was steep but so worth it.  Brilliant climbing on 3-star routes, we do Dives / Better Things, HS4b consisting of 24mtrs of 4a, 40mtrs of 4b, Mat opening the 1st pitch, I the second.  The brilliant upper pitch was excellent and felt never ending.  Excellent climbing, with that old head game of rationing your protection, 40 metres has never felt so long distance wise, and time wise it zoomed past though it took me an hour to complete.

The next route to the right, the 3-star 2 pitch VS4c, Sabre Cut.  An unorthodox send by Matthew, we save time on the descent by using the abseil point for the E36a to the right, Foil.  Another brilliant route, but I need to practice my gear placement skills, as I found a few wires in places that I wouldn’t have thought of.  An excellent day’s climbing.
