After a bit of fun in north Wales, and foolishly trying to send Clogau Gold, 7a after a full day’s climbing demanding routes at Castle Inn (hopefully because I was tired, Gold wasn’t as nice as I remembered it) we’re back at Masson Lees to have a look at the back wall that we missed last time.  This was after a slight diversion to Hipley Hill, where I had to indulge Mr. Chinner’s trad obsession.  This E1 5b is missing a rather large block half way up:

Anyway, knuckle dragging aside, we’re at Overhanging Wall for a pumpy warm up on Eye, Eye, 6b+.  The wall is a little dusty but the climbing is nice.  I try the hard 6c, Pocket Rocket and then I’m onto the nice Exo 6, 7a.  I fluff the beta at the 4th bolt but also get thrown off the slimy slopers at the top as spots of rain come down.  Though the wall is overhanging and protected from mild rain, the top was getting wet.  I’ll warm up on it next time I’m here.
